Meeting Information
The Coulterville Historical Society meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7:00. Until the Museum remodel is completed, we will be meeting at the library.

Minutes from November 2025 meeting
I. Call to Order – The meeting was called to order at 7:07 pm at the library with the following
present: Jenny Dyson, Tony Lehr, Diana Cole, Judy Coke, Bob Fox, Stephanie Thornton and Joy
Fox. Grant Houghland was also a visitor at the meeting.
II. Minutes – the minutes of the September meeting were read and discussed. Motion was
made by Judy and seconded by Diana to approve. Motion carried.
III. Treasurer’s Report – The treasurer’s report was reviewed and discussed, balance on hand
October 31 $2,659.92 + $2,076.54 in savings. Motion was made by Bob and seconded by Judy
to approve. Motion carried.
IV. Old Business –
a. Remodel project update – concrete has been poured over the old floor, it will be a bit
more expensive due to unforeseen problems and some of the other items on the
agenda may need to wait until later.
b. Savers contract states that we cannot donate yard sale leftovers as part of their
fundraising collections. We received approximately $450 for the load of items we
gathered and took last month.
V. New Business
a. RWE (a solar company) approached Jenny asking if there were any needs at the
museum, she will present some ideas to them for possible donations.
b. Request has been made by a citizen for any information we may have on a 1929 anvil
and a 1913 leg vise from the blacksmith shop in town.
c. Fund-raising opportunity has been offered if we help direct parking at the 2026
Rendezvous. This will be June 6-7, 2026 and we will ask for volunteers to help in the
weeks prior.
d. America250 –Randolph Tourism Committee is planning an event at Fort Kaskaskia on
June 20, 2026.
e. Jenny attended a regional meeting in Nashville, IL with local historic societies, Illinois
Historic Society President was in attendance. Mascoutah indicated they had just
received a printing press that was formerly used at World Color Press in Sparta.
Carlisle rep will be coming after Christmas to meet with students and have a story
telling session. We will look into a story-telling event for the spring.
f. Next meeting will be December 18th at 7 pm, to be held at the Library.
VI. Adjournment – there being no further business for discussion, motion was made by Tony and
seconded by Bob to adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 7:48 pm.
